Straddling the Upper Thomson, Ang Mo Kio and Bishan districts, the Shunfu area may not be a large one but it is certainly not an unpopular or inexpensive one.
Few new private residential launches in the area
The Shunfu and Marymount area is situated in a prime area that is just a quick 15 to 20-minute drive from the city centre and has many pluses. Located in between the Marymount MRT station (Circle line) and the upcoming Upper Thomson MRT station (Thomson-East Coast line), it has many dining options nearby along the Upper Thomson road main stretch.
There are also grocery, enrichment and entertainment facilities at the nearby Thomson Plaza and Bishan Junction 8 malls.
Recreation-wise, the Orchid country club, Thomson Community Centre, Bishan Community Club and Bishan Swimming Complex and Stadium are all just a train stop or a few bus stops away. In addition, residents will also have the Ang Mo Kio-Bishan Park at its doorstep.
The Shunfu area is relatively quiet and exclusive, with only some well-placed blocks of HDB flats and private condominiums making up its residential population.
There are offices at Midview City and schools in the vicinity include Ai Tong Primary School, Catholic High and Primary schools, Raffles Institution amongst many others.
Shunfu and other district 20 estates popular with buyers
The increasing popularity of this area is reflected in buyers’ keen response for the Jadescape new private condominium launch over the weekend. Over 60% of the units were sold over the launch weekend. Buyers were attracted by the track-record of developer Qingjian Realty and the location of the property.
Over 300 units were picked up over the weekend alone. The developer had launched 480 units. The lack of private properties in the area may also account for buyers’ eagerness.
Many of the properties along Shunfu and Sin Ming are older ones such as Thomson V, Flame Tree Park, Faber Garden and The Gardens at Bishan. Some of the latest additions to the district include Clover By the Park and Thomson Grand.
