Cheong Hai Thoo, SingTel’s Head of Multimedia, said: “NewsLoop is designed by Singaporeans for Singaporeans.  It differentiates itself from other news apps by being the first to cater specifically to the needs and interests of local readers.  It also provides local media and bloggers with a powerful new platform to reach a wider audience and earn additional revenue for their content.”

“Studies have shown that 30 per cent of consumers who read news on a tablet spend more time reading news than they did before they purchased their tablet.  With NewsLoop’s unique mix of content sources, we hope to provide these users with different perspectives of news and events in Singapore and around the world,” he said.

iProperty.com Singapore has experienced considerable growth in consumer traffic to its website over the past 12 months. Moving forward, the brand will make several improvements and changes to the portal aimed at further developing its proposition to consumers and agents. Earlier this month, Sean Tan joined the iProperty.com Group as General Manager of Singapore. With a strong background in digital, most recently with InSing.com and previously Yahoo!, Sean will strengthen iProperty.com’s role as a platform for marketers to reach consumers.

“We have big plans to grow in the coming years and we need partners who can support this,” says Sean Tan, General Manager Singapore, iProperty Group. “Singtel is a good fit for us and they’ve tailored programs such as Newsloop that’s aligned with where iProperty.com is heading. This will serve us well as we grow.”

“iProperty is a brand with a strong vision of where it is going so we’re delighted to be onboard Sintel’s digital initiatives,” Sean added. “Property is of relevance and interest to everyone – even people who aren’t looking to move house take a keen interest in what’s happening in the sector. iProperty.com is in a leading position in Singapore and we’ll see that strengthen further as its proposition to consumers, agents and marketers develops over time.”

NewsLoop renders articles in a fresh and easy-to-read magazine-style format. Readers no longer have to scan through long lists of posts and click on link after link.

Readers can also customise the categories and news sources that they access according to their needs. The app allows users to add news feeds and timelines from Facebook and Twitter. Over time, NewsLoop learns the interests of users and helps them to discover articles that will appeal to them.

NewsLoop is available for free download from the Apple App Store.
