Hmlet’s largest co-living facility launches at 150 Cantonment Road

Hmlet Cantonment features 150 custom-designed rooms as its largest purpose-built co-living space in the heart of Singapore.

SINGAPORE – Hmlet, Asia’s fastest-growing co-living operator, has launched Hmlet Cantonment in Singapore, its largest dedicated facility to date.

With 150 individual rooms that provide residents with privacy, housekeeping and laundry services, the property is nestled in the heart of Tanjong Pagar in the CBD precinct.

Building on the heritage site from the 1950s, Hmlet has fully transformed the former school into a holistic new co-living environment, operating within a zone approved by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) for short-term stays of six nights and above.

The 76,000 square foot building located at 150 Cantonment Road will serve as a green oasis in the city center, with eight-meter tall trees dotting vertical gardens around the perimeter.

Depending on the room category, weekly stays range between S$1,105 to S$2,240 (S$145 to S$320 per night). Members who book a three-month stay and above will enjoy preferential rates from S$3,240 a month.

In true Hmlet fashion, the facility is designed to incorporate co-living spaces, such as communal kitchens, a wellness studio, outdoor plunge pool and relaxation area, as well as an all-day, in-house cafe to encourage interaction among residents.

In addition to regular branded partner pop-up events, Hmlet hosts community activities for members including games night, movie screenings, in-house yoga and meditation classes.

The building’s retro elements such as the original staircase with terrazzo handrails and feature walls are kept to retain its heritage. Hmlet is also building on its commitment to sustainable living with a portion of its furniture being Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified.

Developed in partnership with LHN Facilities Management Pte Ltd – an indirect subsidiary of LHN Limited, a Singapore-based real estate management services group – Hmlet Cantonment was formerly the location of Keppel Primary School before it was converted to the headquarters of Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB).

Strategically located near Singapore’s historic Chinatown and Duxton Hill, Hmlet Cantonment is just a short walk from a myriad of restaurants, cafes, bars and cultural attractions.

Public transportation is easily accessible within a 5-minute walk, while tourist hotspots such as Sentosa, Orchard Road and Marina Bay Sands are just 10-15 minutes away.

“Hmlet Cantonment has a colourful history as a former school and police headquarters, and we are thrilled to be adding the co-living facility to the building’s impressive resume. By partnering with LHN to fully customise and renovate the property, Hmlet Cantonment is a fresh new concept that combines living spaces for both long and short-term stays. We’re excited for Hmlet Cantonment to become a space our members can call home – no matter the length of their stay,” said Yoan Kamalski, CEO of Hmlet.
