There are tons of MRT stations in Singapore, and more are being built in the coming years. With all this national development in the pipeline, it seems natural that there would be condominiums built right next to or even on top of MRT stations.
Perfect, then, to reduce your dependence on what is now a monopolistic Grab ride-sharing service! Are you ready to be exposed to a whole new world of convenience?
Compass Heights – SengKang MRT
You know what’s even more brilliant that staying 1 minute away from an MRT station? Also staying 1 minute away from a mall with every thing you need to make your house a home. Compass heights has some great proximity to the recently re-developed CompassOne Mall, so that’s some ultra-convenience for you!
Urban Vista, The Glades & The Optima – Tanah Merah MRT
Tanah Merah has some amazingly well-placed condominiums, so the MRT is actually surrounded by multiple Condominiums, most of which have come up in the past 5-8 years. The Optima, and Urban Vista are the latest, while The Glades has been around for some time now.
What is amazing is that the MRT’s exits lead straight to all 3 condominiums, so it’s super easy to hop onto the East-West Line!
North Park Residences – Yishun MRT
Besides the fact that I’ve already disproven the rumors that Yishun is cursed, I do think that the completion of Northpoint city gives people plenty of reason to live in Yishun.
For those who really want to be in the heart of that action, the logical move would be to live at North Park Residences. It is right next to Yishun MRT, and situated above the massive Northpoint City Mall, which has some amazing dining and shopping options.
Queens – Queenstown MRT
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it: Queenstown/Commonwealth area is a gem, and if you can get in on the action now, do it. The Queens development just a stone’s throw away from Queenstown MRT is a great example of this. It is 15 minutes away from the CBD by car, and if you take the train, you’re 4 stops away from Raffles Place. How’s that for accessibility?
Wallich Residence – Tanjong Pagar MRT
This one’s a hyper-centralised option, and perfect for those who want to be close to the beating heart of the CBD. First of all, it’s located right on top of Tanjong Pagar MRT station, with some great luxury dining and shopping options at Tanjong Pagar Centre. It’s also near the Duxton/ Chinatown/Tanjong Pagar Road enclave, so there’s a lively selection of bars and restaurants. The real win, however, is i being able to get to any part of the CBD in less than 10 minutes by train!
Harbourlights – Harbourfront MRT
This one is pretty cool: Harbourfront living that puts you within 5 minutes walk from Vivocity, Sentosa and Harbourfront MRT. Connected to both the North East and Circle Lines, Harbourlights sits across the street from the sprawling mass that is Vivocity, which holds supermarket options, various restaurants, a food court, and even a cinema.
Bishan 8 – Bishan MRT
Bishan MRT is a veritable nexus point when it comes to transport, with the Circle & North-South lines meeting each other beneath the huge Bishan Junction 8 Mall that sits atop of it.
Bishan 8 is less than a 5-minute walk away from the MRT station, and all the collective goodness that sits on top of it.
The accessibility and connectedness provided by the MRT line is also great because the North-South Line leads into the CBD while Circle Line can take you almost anywhere else!
Kovan Residences & Kovan Melody – Kovan MRT
What I love about Kovan is that it’s actually super near Dhoby Ghaut if you take the North-East Line. In fact, the two stops are less than 15 minutes away from each other, so that means high accessibility to the Orchard Road shopping district!
Both residences in question are right across the street from Heartland Mall and one escalator ride away from Kovan Station situated underground.
