In Malay, Pasir Ris translates to “White Sand” and this coastal town has long be lauded for its tranquility, almost like a secret tucked away in the quietest part of the island. But not to be mistaken for exclusion from the usual conveniences of city living, it is well-served by trains and buses and has a buzzing town centre and a few malls to boot.
