When Smeg meets Dolce & Gabbana

Iconic fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has teamed up with the Italian appliance manufacturer, and the results are a match made in kitchen heaven.

Smeg, creators of all things cute in the kitchen and the main reason why we’re in decorator’s debt, has teamed up with Italian design house Dolce & Gabbana for a collection so stunning it’ll have you punching in your credit card digits without a moment’s thought.

The Sicily is my Love collection is dubbed a “celebration of Made in Italy authenticity” and showcases the two brands’ combined passion for art, design, and creativity.

Sicily is the homeland of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

Colourful designs adorn a selection of Smeg’s iconic small appliances like the kettle, toaster, blender and new citrus juicer.

“In a spectacular example of design elevating everyday convenience to a true work of art, each piece is lavishly decorated in the bold colours and decorative motifs of Sicily,” reads the collection description from the brand.

This toaster just flew to the top of our wish lists.

“The history, culture, cuisine and beauty of the Sicilian landscape are captured in the rich, bold hues of fiery red and orange, which depicts artwork inspired by the traditional hand-painted Sicilian cart and the island’s puppet theatre.”

Included in the flamboyant designs are references to the Sicilian landscape and lifestyle.

Local produce like lemons, prickly pears and cherries are all hidden throughout the brightly coloured designs, as are a slew of landmarks that make the area famous.

Ruins of the Greek temple of Castor and Pollux and striking images of Mount Etna are surrounded by decorative motifs and floral flourishes inspired by the coasts.

The designs take inspiration from the Sicilian landscape and lifestyle.

The Sicily is my Love collection will be available in spring, just in time to brighten your home up for the summer.

Prices start at $799 for the kettle, citrus juicer and two-slice toaster, and go up to $1,099 for the blender.
