NASA says this indoor plant can prevent snoring

Breathe easy with this science-backed indoor plant, said to help you sleep better thanks to its ability to interrupt your significant other’s ear-splitting snores.

The cure for snoring may no longer lie in those odd-looking nasal apparatuses, but rather in a very trendy indoor plant – the Ananas comosus (Pineapple).

In Australia, it’s reported that 24% of men and 17% of women snore loudly throughout the night, so it’s in everyone’s interest to get on board with this NASA-approved plant.

That’s right, the NASA (that’s the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, in case you never actually knew what it stood for) has taken the time out of sending people to space to make sure partnerships around the world have a chance at success.

More commonly known as the pineapple plant, this pretty little gem is said by the science authority to improve air quality while you sleep, which in turn opens the airways.

The information comes from UK retailer ASDA, who are stocking the ‘miracle’ plant as a result of NASA’s research.

“According to NASA studies, pineapple plants produce oxygen and improve air quality throughout the night and, therefore, aid better (and quieter) sleep,” a spokesperson for the supermarket chain said in a statement.

Aloe vera is said to have a similar effect thanks to its air-purification properties and continual oxygen production.

Who knew the solution to your sleepless nights could be so aesthetic?
