Ikea renames products after most googled relationship issues

Ikea’s often difficult-to-assemble products have been known to test relationships, but their latest marketing campaign aims to resolve common domestic disputes.

The campaign, by ad agency Åkestam Holst, has renamed Ikea products after the most commonly searched relationship problems in Sweden.

From the snoring husband to the daughter who stays out all night, there’s a piece in this Ikea range that can help you solve your romantic or family dilemma as you search Google for an answer, the ad explains.

Does your family not respect you? Try the Queen Costume, for $US39.97. Your man can’t open up? You’ll need a corkscrew, just $US1.99.

This isn’t the first time the brand has used unusual methods to promote its products. Earlier this year, Ikea trolled Kanye West after he expressed a desire to work with them.

This latest campaign, consolidated in the brand’s new sister site called Retail Therapy, trolls us all by matching Ikea products to ‘fix’ our not-so-private relationship issues.

In theory, the renamed products will show up in Google search results when you type in issues such as ‘splitting expenses with your partner’.
