IKEA recreates iconic TV show living rooms

If, like many of us, you have binge-watched TV shows like Friends, The Simpsons and Stranger Things to the extent you could describe every inch of the living rooms – then listen up.

Now’s your chance to recreate these iconic spaces using IKEA furniture. The furniture giant has even created your shopping list for each look.

IKEA has recreated the apartment living room from Friends.

In a campaign, called the ‘Real-Life Series’, based out of IKEA in the United Arab Emirates, the furniture mogul has recreated living rooms from some of the most popular television shows to grace our screens.

The series is designed to serve as inspiration for IKEA’s diverse audience and demonstrate the variety of ways its furniture and solutions can be used.

So, if you’re the Monica in your share house you too can enjoy the Friends French-themed digs, complete with white couch, window seat and wall sconces.

The only thing you’ll need is your own massive Manhattan apartment with a huge bay window that’s also cheap enough to be a share house for twenty somethings. Hmm…

Want the chance to create your own Stranger Things living room? Here’s your shopping list.

More of a horror fan? Maybe you’re after the Stranger Things space – complete with fairy lights on the walls, a dark couch and candles on the coffee table.

You’ll have to BYO your own scrawled ouija board-style wall alphabet, however.

For the classic family living room, we can’t go past The Simpsons recreation? You can buy everything in the ad, save for the rabbit-eared TV.

It doesn’t get much more classic than The Simpsons living room.

Vinod Jayan, managing director at IKEA UAE, Egypt and Oman, said, “The Real-Life Series truly embodies the IKEA mission to create a better everyday life for the many people.

“We wanted to show all our customers here in the UAE how they could bring to life the iconic living spaces they see in their favourite shows.”
