The Crown House from 81.WAW.PL is why we so love the world of architecture – the boundaries are limitless when it comes to design.
The Polish firm have really tackled the design world head on with this proposal.
While not yet built the concept is clean and angular, with a dramatic roofline and sharply cut windows.
As it’s designed to be built on the edge of a lake, it creates a contrasting effect to its natural surroundings.
The sharp lines and white walls emphasise the juxtaposition of the rugged, mountainous background. Guests drive up to the house along the edge of the water where they can access a private garage.
The deck is the main attraction once inside – a sharp triangular base that extends out from the home into the vast lake.
This is an entertaining area that befits a group of lucky friends, or a quiet spot to stop and reflect; to appreciate the natural setting.
Winning first place in the 2015 World Architecture Community’s International Competition, and scoring runner up in Architizer’s A+ awards, it’s already turned the heads of the community’s harshest critics, and continues to impress today.
