Here are nine baking accessories that, yes, okay, you might not NEED, but definitely want.

3. Cute cupcake kits
Chirp, chirp. A little birdie told us, the secret to mad cake decorating skills is all in the tools and materials you have at your disposal, like these adorable colourful cupcake bird toppers.
It’s literally a matter of piercing them into the cupcakes, and voilà!

4. Quality essentials
Success as a baker relies just as much on the quality of your toolkit, as it does on skill and technique.
Make life easier next time there’s a birthday or big event by investing in quality baking essentials.

5. A beautiful apron
If you haven’t already heard of it, Marimekko is the gorgeous Norwegian brand that specialises in colourful printed cotton – think clothes, tea towels, and yup, aprons.
The Pikkukellukka print apron has a front pocket to keep baking tools, phones, recipe cards, and other essentials within easy reach.

6. A decent mixer
Everyone’s favourite baker muse, Nigella Lawson, made a point of declaring her love of all things pink and green with her latest cookbook, Simply Nigella. (Her matcha cake with pink cherry icing just about summed up the obsession).
When we saw her recipes come to life on our small screens we couldn’t help but notice the pink mixer (and numerous other pink accessories) she kept in her kitchen.
Of course, it made us instantly want to play copycat…

7. A cake carrier
There’s no point excelling at making beautiful baked goods, if you’re going to let them fly across the seat of the car travelling to and from birthdays and baby showers.
Say goodbye to icing on the windscreen with this three-in-one cake caddy by Wilton, available online through Kitchen Warehouse.

8. A retro cake stand
Let’s be honest. Baking is as much about impressing guests as it is about licking the bowl.
A retro glass serving cloche, like the one below by Zafferano, is going to be the best stage for your winning desserts to shine.

9. Showstopper candles
You make a mean sponge, but when it comes to making rosettes out of icing, you’re completely out of your depth. In this case, let some show-stealing cake candles do all the hard work for you.
These cuties from Sunnylife can be used time and time again for never-fail ‘ooh-ahh’ factor.
