International Schools
There are a large number of International Schools in Singapore to
choose from. Foreign students intending to study in Singapore are
required to obtain a student pass from the Immigration Department. The
list of International Schools is listed below:-
1. Emaar International School
Emaar was previously known as E R International School (ERIS). The
school opened in January 2007 under the guardianship of Raffles Campus
educational centre which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Emaar
Education. Emaar educates students from Pre School to High School
levels.
Emaar
Pre School is a learning centre with child centered programmes that
focus on academic achievements, physical, emotional as well as social
development needs. It caters to children from 3 to 6 years of age. This
school allows its students to prepare for the transition into Emaar
Junior School. For students in Middle School, they are prepared for the
University of Cambridge curriculum leading to the Cambridge IGCSE
examinations and thereafter for the Cambridge International A-level
examinations in High School. Alternatively, students who are interested
may pursue the IB Diploma.

2. Insworld School
This school operates in tandem with the British Education System and
offers London University Edexcel ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Examinations.
Students are accepted from Year 10 through to university entry on
completion of their ‘A’ Levels. The school is modeled on the British
tutorial college model with class sizes ranging from 5 to 10 students.
Each class offers personal tutorial support, marked homework and
regular tests and assessments. Insworld school also offers full
boarding and supervised accommodation.

3. Chinese International School Singapore (CNIS)
This school is a multicultural international school taking in students
from pre-kindergarten to high school and is established on the
foundations of the IB Programme. With a combination of Eastern and
Western philosophies of education and the spirit of open-mindedness,
the school caters to the educational needs of toddlers, young children
and young adults.

4. The International Community School (ICS)
The International Community School (ICS) is the only Christian
international school in Singapore and it offers an American-based
College Preparatory curriculum and ESL programme. This school caters to
students from ages 3 through 18. With the school's small class size,
students are ensured the individual attention he/she needs.
While the school respects the religious preferences of parents and
students, parents should understand that the school operates within the
framework of Christian principles. As such, each student takes part in
daily bible study and weekly, non-denominational chapel services.

5. Australian International School
This school offers primary and secondary education which incorporates
the New South Wales curriculum from kindergarten to year twelve. It
allows students to sit for the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and the
school system is fully accredited by the New South Wales Board of
Studies. This school also has a pre-school for children aged between 3
to 4 years of age.

6. Canadian International School
The Canadian International School is a privately-owned co-educational
day school. It offers an Ontario-based university preparatory
curriculum for pre-school aged children through Grade 12/OAC (ages 3 to
19). It also offers an internationally-recognized Ontario Secondary
School Diploma, which is acceptable for university enrollment
worldwide. The Canadian International school also offers an extensive
ESL programme and has an Academic Resource department which provides
students with enrichment and remedial activities.

7. Chatsworth International School
Chatsworth International School started in January 1995 and now has
three campuses: Chatsworth Kindergarten in Jalan Kayu, an international
Kindergarten and Elementary School in Jalan Tembusu, Katong, and a full
Kindergarten to High School campus in Emerald Hill, which offers an
international curriculum.

8. Dover Court Preparatory School
Dover Court Preparatory School is an international school for children
aged between 3 to 15 years of age. It offers a British based curriculum
specifically adapted to the needs of international students. The school
also offers English as a Second Language and there are specially
organized groups for children who cannot speak English and for those
whose command of English is limited.
This
school also offers a Centre for Special Education that caters to
handicapped children. Individual programmes are conducted by specially
trained teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists,
physiotherapists and psychologists.

9. German European School Singapore
This school is a non-profit establishment with over forty years of
successful history in Singapore. It provides an excellent, well-rounded
education syllabus in the German language and also features a European
global education system using English as the language of choice.
Students in the German section are taught based on the German national
curriculum whilst students in the European section uses the
International Baccalaureate programme at all levels.

11. ISS International School
This school is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World
School offering a multicultural environment. It educates students from
Kindergarten through to Grade 12 using the IB curriculum. Other
international curriculum including IGCSE and the American High School

12. The Japanese School
This school provides academic courses at its 3 campuses in Clementi,
Changi and West Coast Road. The school has an open admission policy
with no restrictions on intake of students and teaches primary and
secondary courses. The academic staff are mostly Japanese teachers
sent by the Japanese government on a three-year tour of duty while some
are recruited from Singapore.

13. Lycée Français de Singapour
Also known as the Ecole Francais de Singapour, this school offers
education programmes drawn-up by the French Ministry of Education. The
school is opened to all French nationals or French-speaking students
and provides kindergarten to Baccalaureate level (pre-university)
courses. The teachers are certified in France and the medium of
instruction are in French with English, German or Spanish taught as a
second language.

14. Overseas Family School (OFS)
OFS provides a modern education system with classes from kindergarten
to high school level. It is taught in the English language and offers

15. Sekolah Indonesia
The Indonesian School’s curriculum is based on the education programme
provided by the Indonesian Ministry of Education. It is opened to
students whose parents are Indonesian nationals, staffs of the
Indonesian embassy, and Indonesian state-owned enterprises based in
Singapore. The academic courses are up to pre-university level and the
medium of instruction is Bahasa Indonesia with English as a second
language.

16. Tanglin Trust School
Tanglin Trust School started in 1925 and provides a British-based
education system for expatriate students aged between 3 to 18. Among
the entry requirements of this school is that prospective students must
be proficient English speakers and displays the intellectual capacity
to fully participate in and benefit from the School's curriculum.
Tanglin Trust School accepts students aged between 3 and 18 and offers

17. The Singapore American School (SAS)
SAS offers an American Education Curriculum for expatriate
students living in Singapore and is accredited by the Western
Association of Schools and Colleges. SAS’s high school programme
fulfills the entry requirements for most American universities and
colleges. It’s elementary and middle school caters to pre-school
students up to grade eight. ESL is also provided to
non-English-speaking students.

18. The Swiss School Singapore
This school offers programmes for children aged 3 1/2 to 16 years old.
The medium of instruction is in German and the teachers are trained in
either Switzerland or Germany. Religious classes are also conducted for
