The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) released the detailed sales conditions for the first hotel sale site at Kallang Riverside. The 0.74 ha Land Parcel located along the Kallang River is made available on the Reserve List under the first half 2009 Government Land Sales Programme. The Land Parcel has a maximum permissable gross floor area of 20,917 sqm and a maximum building height of 16 storeys. There will be a lease period of 99 years for the site.
Envisaged to be a distinctive waterfront hotel development, this first sale site is located at a prominent location along the Kallang River. Its location, which is close to the Central Business District (CBD) and waterfront setting, makes it prime for hotel development for both business travellers and tourists.
Guests and visitors staying at the proposed hotel development will have easy access to the CBD via major roads like Victoria Street and Nicoll Highway. Furthermore, the Kallang MRT station is within walking distance to the site.
Interested developers who want to purchase the site can no apply to URA for it to be put on tender.
In accordance to the Government's Reserve List System, a site in the Reserve List will only be put up for tender if the developer's minimum bid price in the application is acceptable to the Government.
When a site is put up for tender, there is a tender period of about 16 weeks before the tender closes.
