iProperty: What are the pros and cons of living in this area?
Germaine Lee: The Sengkang MRT station, Compass Point shopping mall, library, market, eateries, schools and swimming complex are all within easy reach. Transport links to and from Sengkang are also good.
iP: Can you tell us a bit about the property you live in?
GL: I live in a 5-room HDB flat owned by my in-laws. It is 110 sq m and in its original condition. Nan Chiau Primary School is just next to us, and a five-minute walk gets us to Compass Point, the MRT station and eateries.
iP: What would your advice be for people looking to relocate to this area?
GL: Sengkang is a good place for families because of the good schools nearby. If you work in the Central Business District area though, this place might not be ideal.
iP: What is your favourite place for dinner in the area and why?
GL: Compass Point. This mall has a good variety of F&B outlets we can choose from.
iP: Do you have a local bar or pub and what’s good about it?
GL: There is a restaurant called Brewbakers. It is a good place to chill out and they screen live soccer matches too.
iP: Where do you do your shopping and why?
GL: I usually head to the wet market or Cold Storage Supermarket in Compass Point. My place is also a short 5-minute drive to more supermarkets like Sheng Shiong, Prime and NTUC FairPrice.
iP: Are there any special finds in the area?
GL: Brewbakers is interesting because it’s located in Anchorvale Community Club. We also have a ‘drive-thru’ MacDonald’s here.
