Its location and sky garden features led Sky and Kara Lee to pick a flat at The Pinnacle@Duxton. But when the couple, who are in their 30s, first saw their new four-room apartment, they decided that professional help was needed to create 'maximum storage'.

'The apartment looks rather small, especially the two bedrooms,' says Mr Lee. The couple, who have a dog named Turbo, also wanted their spaces to be easy to clean and maintain.

Enter interior designer Dave Sim of Soho Interiors +Studio ARC, who customised most of the furnishings to include clever storage spaces and maintain a cohesive palette in the 25th-storey apartment.

To enlarge the 1,022 sq ft space visually, mirrors flank one side of the living room. Customised banquettes - which rest against the mirrors and run the length of the space - conceal storage spaces beneath the seats.

Even the slim base of the dining table has spaces for condiments and cutlery. Fitted with castors, the table can slide away from the wall when the couple need to access the household shelter, which is hidden from view as its door is clad in the same wallpaper as the adjacent walls.

In the master bedroom, the space has been reconfigured to fit in a walk-in wardrobe, a request from the owners, who have no children. It features, among other things, facing his and hers closets, a small dresser and drawers with built-in organisers for accessories.

Extra storage can also be found in the headboard - the padded plush feature conceals cubbyholes for knick-knacks.

Together with mood lighting and carpets - the couple cut up Ikea rugs and attached the pieces to the floor with velcro themselves - the bedroom has become a cosy den.

All in, the renovation cost $50,000. But to the owners, it was money well spent - particularly for the bespoke furnishings that maximised space, turning their dream home into a reality.
