Far East Organization has launched Greenwich V, a new mall in Seletar.
The 45,000 sq ft, two-storey retail podium is planned to be a chic, modern and green village. It will feature a central square or piazza as its centrestage, with open-air alfresco dining and play areas.
Located at the corner of Yio Chu Kang and Seletar Roads, Greenwich V will serve approximately 530,000 residents in the vicinity, including the expatriate community in the residential areas of Seletar Airbase.
Chief Operating Officer of Far East Organization’s Retail Business Group, Mr Kelvin Ling, said, “The immediate area around Greenwich V has a sizeable population who we believe are a little underserved at the moment, in terms of shopping and entertainment options. We are looking at apportioning about half of the mall to F&B, like cafes and restaurants, because we want Greenwich V to become ‘the’ place where families and friends can meet and relax.”
Greenwich V will also serve the working population at the industrial estates in Yio Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio, as well as the upcoming Seletar Aerospace Park, which is a $60m, 300-ha project, north of the planned mall. When completed, it is estimated that the Park will create 10,000 jobs in the area.
Confirmed tenants in Greenwich V include Cold Storage, Guardian and 7-Eleven. Local food court operator, Kopitiam, has also signed up. There are a total of 35 retail spaces in the mall. Besides F&B, target businesses in the retail mix include services such as hair salons, wine shops as well as educational and medical services.
In the pipeline is a 319-unit condominium which will further complement Greenwich V’s overall concept of a vibrant lifestyle destination.
