The Housing Development Board (HDB) recently announced that it will tender another three new Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS)sites later this year that can yield about 1,600 flats in Tampines, Bedok Reservoir and Upper Serangoon.
Earlier, HDB released another DBSS site in Yishun that can yield about 700 flats. Combined with the 3 new sites, a total of 2,300 DBSS flats is in the pipeline. All these flats will further supplement the Build-To-Order (BTO) system, which is the main supply of new HDB flats.
The Tampines site is located in Tampines Avenue 5/ Tampines Central 8 and should yield 580 units. June 2010 is the estimated time for its tender.
The tender for the other two sites are expected to be in the second half of the year. The locations for the sites are Bedok Reservoir Crescent and Upper Serangoon Road. The number of flats expected to be built are 430 and 580 respectively.
DBSS flats are developed and sold by private developers. They have a 99-year lease and are sold under similar HDB eligibility conditions.
