According to the Jurong Town Corporation (JTC), Biopolis will be further expanded by 46,000 sqm. This will bring its total research and development space to more than 300,000 sqm. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2013.

A JTC spokesman said the expansion will feature sustainable features, the key facet of which being the energy efficient lab designs. These energy efficient labs will help minimise energy consumption and maximise savings in operational costs for its tenants.
