Rentals for both private homes and Housing Development Board (HDB) sublets increased in 4th Quarter last year. Private residential property rentals inched up by 0.6 % in the last quarter as compared with the decrease of 2.2 % in 3rd Quarter 2009.

For the whole year of 2009, rentals of private residential properties decreased by some 14.6%.

For the HDB market, median sublet rents increased for all flat types in 4th Quarter 2009, except for 3-room flats which remained the same as the previous quarter.
